Easter Egg Hunt Party

Fun Easter Celebration Ideas

Easter is one of my favorite holidays, I always have a sense of hope and renewed faith this season, mostly due to our beliefs and the way church affects us this time of year. But also – the weather and change in temperatures (especially here in NC), things starting to bloom and friends wanting to gather outside just lifts my spirit up, plus colorful clothes & dressing up. Winter is not for me & Spring gets me out of my winter blues. I have always dreamed of hosting a little Easter Egg Hunt for all the kids. The first time we saw our new house, that was the exact thing I was picturing. I couldn’t wait to plan a fun little garden party type egg hunt for our friends and all of our little ones. I have included a few of my ideas and even some printable files below in hopes that you’ll have time to use them for Easter!

For parties, I think the best place to start is the invitation. If you’ve seen the other posts of our parties, you know I like to base everything on the design from the invitations and these were so fun! For Easter and the season of Spring, I love gingham with traditional designs – when I found a Peter Rabbit illustration, I fell in love and used that. I loved the little illustrated bumble bees to accent. And since our little one is a boy, I didn’t want it too girly or pink. This would also be super cute personalized for a spring baby shower!

Once I had the invitations sent, I focused on other fun things to coordinate. I started with a Snapchat filter.

For most parties, I like to purchase a fun party favor like cups or koozies, I didn’t spend a lot for this party so there were no fancy favors or anything… just Easter bubble wands for the kids and I designed personalized tags for them. The bubbles were adorable & had Easter graphics and the lid was bunny ears…the tag was the perfect little addition.

With kid parties, I’m usually chasing a toddler so I don’t get to always be a great hostess by making sure all guests are informed about the dishes on the table so I made folded tent cards that labeled each bowl or dish so people knew what each was. This is such an easy way to add a little custom touch to your event. I’ve added the files I used so you can print them and use as needed. I also really wanted to do these for the bar so adults would know what pitchers already had alcohol included and were not kid-friendly (the were also kept out of reach of the kiddos, don’t worry).

I also did cute labels for water bottles. I have never really found a paper type that I love for doing labels until I found this — It really is water resistant and they held up so well. I included the printable template that I used for these particular gingham Easter themed bottles. I will be using them for lots of upcoming events and will add each updated template as I create new labels.

Everything I prepared for food was super quick and easy – I had a bakery make me plain white cupcakes for pickup early that morning and we quickly stuck custom cupcake toppers in each one for at least a pretty little display. To make toppers, I always use my circle punch and cut out designs, glue them straight to tooth picks or little skewers/forks and stick them in. So easy and it gives it a finished look.

For the table, I try to use festive décor and fresh flowers, for this I used ferns, yellow roses, spider mums, and tulips with hydrangeas (if you’re local, I always use Fords Plant & Seeds for the best plants and prices, they’re amazing and the quality/size is far better than you’ll find anywhere!). I’ll have to share some of the easy recipes I used at some point but you already know this isn’t a recipe/foodie blog. Just in case you’re wondering…not a drop of food was left because people ended up staying til dinner time! I did pb&j for the kids, chicken salad croissants, fruit kabobs with a festive little peep, lots of desserts, chips and dip, chicken & waffles, pasta salad, my Mother-in-law made awesome potato salad and I had my Mom make deviled eggs because I honestly did not want my house smelling like them!

Now that you’ve seen the food & party prep… I’ll show you a little bit of the actual party, the kids had a blast and I think the adults did too! I have added some of the links from what we did outside to make the party fun for the kids.

We were so busy having fun, I didn’t even get one photo with my boys. Oh well, y’all know what we look like by now & know we had the silliest day together. The kids had a blast and that made all of it worth it! I hope you felt at least somewhat inspired to throw a fun Easter get together for your favorite people. Happy Easter everyone! I have lots of little house projects I have been working on that I cannot wait to share with you, now just to find the time to actually do that 🙂

ps- shoutout to my awesome brother in law Austin Windell Photography for grabbing my camera and taking a few pictures for me at the last minute!
