New Baby, New Projects

disney world gender reveal and nursery updates

Hi!! Yes, it’s been forever. I’m still here! I am finally getting towards the end of our second trimester and I think finishing up with my severe all-day morning sickness. In January, we shared that we were expecting Baby #2 and we are so excited!

Disney Gender Reveal, its a girl

Right before we left for Disney World in early March, we found out we are expecting a baby girl!! We had the most amazing family vacation with our little family and made the most magical memories. On the way home, I began the ever changing idea board and started coming up with some tentative designs!

Nursery Planning

It’s still a major work in progress. I’m currently waiting on her room/ceiling to be rewired for some lighting and trying to figure out the best room layout with furniture. I have made lots of little purchases and know I’ll be returning and exchanging as things progress but I’m so excited with the updates we’ve made and can’t wait to share. Mac has helped me do lots of projects and even helped me paint! Her room is painted and that’s about the only project that is completely done. You’ll see basically everything we picked out for the nursery is blue and white or gold, which is perfect because all of the hardware in our house is already brass & y’all know I love chinoiserie!

Gender Reveal Painted Name in Pink NurseryHer name is Annie Kathryn, after our great-grandmother and my sister. The two coolest women ever, so she is set up for huge things already! We aren’t sure if we’ll call her by solely Annie or Annie Kate or Annie Kathryn, it changes everyday but I think we’ll know once we see her!

I also have her bathroom to work on. I’d been putting it off until we knew if we’d have a second child – I knew if it was a girl, I’d want her to have her own bathroom instead of the Jack & Jill that connects to Mac’s room. So now that we know, I am in the middle of ripping down wallpaper and old light fixtures, redoing the ceiling, updating electrical & picking out colors. I was so indecisive about both rooms because I want her bedroom and bathroom to grow with her and not need to be updated every few years (let’s be honest, we all know I’ll be updating it as frequently as she asks me to!!). To help with my decisions, I put my sister to work! She knows my taste better than I do and can pick things out for me that I would never pick out for myself! So thankful she is my partner in all of this. I will post progress and final updates as we complete them.

I’m not ready to share her nursery idea boards because I’m still tweaking them every day, but I am happy to share some of my favorite items I’ve purchased so far. I know some things will be returned/exchanged as I see them updated in her room.

I’d be happy to have some of this in my own bedroom! I think the gold balloon animals are my favorite!!

My Nursery Favorites

I can’t wait to share the rest with you and we are so thankful for everyone’s support (and patience)! I’m so happy to be feeling back to myself, at least until the third trimester exhaustion hits me and I know it’s quickly approaching!

Children are very special to their parents. Without children married life is incomplete.
